How to make video succeed under Facebook’s new algorithm | PR Daily

Hey! Where did all your fans go?

If it seems that your organizations’ video views on Facebook have plummeted, you’re not imagining things.

Changes in the social media colossus’s algorithm this year mean your posts won’t automatically show up in people’s news feeds— even if they follow you.

“If your video goes up on a brand page, a company page, it’s just not going to make it into anybody’s newsfeed,” says Shel Holtz of Holtz Communication + Technology. “It doesn’t matter whether people have followed that page. You’ve got to get them to go to your page and engage with it.”

That doesn’t mean you have to give up on the platform with 2.1 billion active users. Video is a central part of reclaiming your fans. Here are tips for getting the most out of it.

An Ode to the iPod Classic – The Ringer

I blinked for a moment.

TWITTER WOOING SOUNDCLOUD: IS THERE MUSIC IN THE AIR?

Based on reports, Twitter is looking to acquire the audio sharing platform SoundCloud with the hopes of heading into the music sharing business. It comes as a number of companies are reportedly looking to boost their music sharing capabilities and the Twitter takeover of SoundCloud could put the company into the lead for music online.

If  Twitter does acquire SoundCloud it will bring a huge audience to the service if handled correctly,  allow the 250 million users using the platform a instant way to reach targeted music lovers. Much like our classic radio dial.

We have recommend SoundCloud for years to our clients to help track listens. We like how it allows links to iTunes or any other store for physical as well as digital sales. We also like that you can add a video link to it. We  built for our clients  private SoundCloud players for press and media so that they can hear and even download the whole album before it goes to iTunes which gets the music to the taste-makers quicker and conveniently for them to add tracks to their digital outlets.

#AmazonCart: Twitter and Amazon Partner to Pair Commerce and Conversation

Users can now link their Twitter and Amazon accounts and add items to their cart by simply replying to any Tweet with an Amazon link bearing the hashtag #AmazonCart. I can see this making somewhat of an impact on music sales if handled correctly. Setting up social media campaigns where you are targeting your fans on sales on Amazon, can lead to a better chance of the music ending up in their cart.
